The house is set on a hillside, overlooking the valley of the Dourbie, a small river that empties into the Hérault River. Here are some samples of what you can see from around the house.

South
The view due south from the front of the house (seen here in autumn) looks over the valley toward the plane trees, cypresses, and parasol pines of the hamlet of Villeneuvette.

Southwest
Seen from the front upstairs bedroom, the view to the southwest overlooks a small wooded farm settlement circled by a stone wall and surrounded by wheat fields and vineyards. In the summer, the top of Pic Vissou, just visible above the ridge line, is surrounded by soaring paragliders, who hover on the updrafts that rise up the mountain's flanks.

West
The view from the upstairs bedroom in the northwest of the house looks up the valley at the Montagnes de Liausson, about 10 minutes away. On the south face of these hills is the Cirque de Moureze, famous for its dramatically eroded limestone formations; on the north side is the Lac du Salagou, a large recreational lake.

North
The autumn view up the hill behind the house shows the several stone walls that separate the ascending terraces. Behind the limit of the property of Les Amandiers is a "zone verte," a green belt preserved from development. The bare trees in the foreground are all almonds.

  East
Seen from the breakfast terrace is the spot where the summer sun rises over the parasol pines on the ridge behind the house, framed between pine trees and cypresses.
